Revitalizing Chicago Community News

The new breed of journalist are driving the effort to rejuvenate local news coverage, and help to mitigate the threat to the democratic process. Our goal is to find unprecedented resources to strengthen proven solutions, while eliminating longstanding inequities in the coverage of journalism and its practice.

Students and recent graduates presented their new Austin Harvest produce market at its permanent location this week. It brings art and community to the area which was once infamous for gun violence. WBEZ's Jackie Kostek visited to speak with the company's founders, who have described their goal as not only providing food, but rather creating an atmosphere that is more welcoming part of their goal.
